Syringes
Using Syringes to Clean Your Ears
Ear wax is a normal, healthy substance that protects the ear canal from bacteria, fungus, and other debris. However, sometimes too much ear wax can accumulate and cause problems. To clean your ears, use a syringe and needle.
1. Fill a syringe with room-temperature water and inject it into one ear canal.
2. Swish the water around in the ear canal for a few seconds.
3. Remove the syringe and gently wipe the inside of the ear canal with a cotton ball or tissue.
4. Use the needle to remove any wax that remains in the ear canal. Be careful not to push too hard or you may puncture the eardrum.
If you experience any ear problems, be sure to see your doctor and even consult with them to see if cleaning your own ears with syringes will benefit you.
