How to Treat a Stings & Bites
Summertime means fun in the sun, but it also means being on the lookout for stings and bites. Whether you’re playing in the park or swimming at the beach, there ’s a good chance you’ll get stung or bitten.
Here are some tips on how to treat a sting or bite:
If it’s a sting, remove the stinger with a finger. If it’s a bee or wasp sting, use an antihistamine such as Benadryl or Anacin to relieve the itch.
If it’s a bite, wash the wound with soap and water. Apply an antibiotic ointment if the wound is large. If the wound is minor, apply a band-aid and wait for it to dry.
If you are allergic to bee or wasp stings, seek emergency medical attention.
